About Protos

Protos Theatre and Arts Group launched in 1980. It is a popular amateur theatre group based in North London.  The group have staged over thirty productions, which include plays as well as many musicals for both children and adults.

Protos produce at least two productions a year. The first one being during the February School Half Term and the second during July.  The theatre group has an age range from 8 to 80 years.

Members come from Enfield, Haringey, Barnet, Muswell Hill, Colindale and Potters Bar.  The group meet every Monday evening at Campsbourne Baptist Church, Hornsey, North London.

The Theatre Group has grown rapidly since its first production in 1980 and has over the years developed an experienced team of backstage crew, consisting of scenery, choreographers and costumes.

The group year-on-year makes a profit on its stage shows, and all the money raised is put back into the production fund.

ATV Network - free of charge - has provided technical assistance and has also produced the flyers, posters and tickets for the theatre shows. Most performances are held at the Intimate Theatre, Palmers Green, London. A stage where such names as Roger Moore, Noele Gordon and Tony Blackburn have performed. Prior to ATV assisting with the theatre group, the BBC had previously had some involvment with supporting Protos.
